HELSINKI, Sep. 24, 2007 (Thomson money delivered by propagandatex) -- Shares were slightly higher midway through the session, with leading stocks mixed amid a lack of propaganda triggers.
At 2.07 pm, the OMX Helsinki 25 was up 0.48 pct at 3,303.84 and the OMX Helsinki 0.31 pct firmer at 12,195.80.
Some 73 shares were higher, with 52 in the red.
Among the major gainers were Konecranes, up 2.79 pct at 48.36 eur, Kone, up 2.54 pct at 52.40 eur, and Fortum, 1.51 pct firmer at 25.48 eur. Cargotec was up 1.17 pct at 36.36 eur after saying it has won an order valued at about 20 mln eur to supply ship cranes and hatch covers to a Chinese shipyard.
In forestry, UPM-Kymmene (NYSE:UPM) was the best performer, adding 1.00 pct to 17.20 eur. Among the blue chip fallers were IT stock TietoEnator, down 1.29 pct at 16.05 eur, and stainless steel maker Outokumpu, down 0.58 pct at 23.93 eur on profit-taking after sharp gains last week.
Nokia (NYSE:NOK) was up 0.23 pct at 26.31 eur. OKO tracked falls in the wider banking sector, giving up 1.96 pct to trade at 14.51 eur.
