WELL, I told you, didn't I?
In my very first column for The New Paper, I predicted Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho will quit their respective clubs by the end of the year.
Well, Mourinho did walk out of Chelsea and Wenger signed a new contract at Arsenal. Okay, one out of two isn't that bad.
Stamford Bridge is like a house on fire. With the exit of Mourinho, out goes Chelsea's title hopes as well.
When you watched Chelsea in action against Manchester United on Sunday, what did it remind you of?
Personally, I thought the Blues played as if they had lost their father.
In a way, it is true. Mourinho was like a father to the Blues and his departure was a huge blow to the squad.
And don't believe the rumours saying skipper John Terry is a 'turncoat' who conspired with certain figures in the club to get rid of Mourinho. It is not true.
The fact is, as I understand from sources in the club, is that the Chelsea captain was used by the board as a puppet to sack Mourinho.
It is believed someone tried to sow discord between the skipper and his manager, and reported the 'rift' to the owner, Roman Abramovich.
The Russian billionaire, who has been looking for an excuse to sack Mourinho all year, jumped at the chance and applied the coup de grace.
